how do you find the time?

Where does one find the time to post everyday?? Looks like once a week might be more achievable ;-)

Today I made the girls babychinos for afternoon tea (mummy really needed a coffee!). Most weekends we have a cooked breakfast with coffee for the big kids and babychinos for the girls. Do you think they enjoy them?

Hannah has been practising taking photos. This is her photo of Eva and myself.

And here's one of Hannah and me (taken by me, Eva kept putting her fingers over the shutter - a little more practice needed).

The girls are growing up so quickly. Last weekend Miss Eva moved into a big bed and made huge progress in toilet training.

catch-up

Well it had to happen...no posts in almost a week. So let's play catch-up:

Friday - back to work. SIL flies up for the weekend and the family have dinner together. Lovely night.

Saturday - very busy morning. Dancing, 4th birthday party, lodge my passport application then into the Valley for lunch with the family. Delicious food at Bar Meca. A touch of shopping then dinner at home (cooked by SIL - roast lamb and veggies - followed by trifle).

Sunday - wake up with a sore back which gets progressively worse during the day. We hit the fabric stores with success. Fabric purchased for the flower girl dresses and MIL's mother of the bride dress. SIL flies back home and I cook dinner for the rest of us (Thai style chicken patties and veggies - delicious!)

Monday - back is much worse. Off to the doctor's. Hubby stays home to help with the girls.

Tuesday - the girls are at childcare and I visit the physio. Manipulation is very painful! Able to wonder around Spotlight without any distractions =) Cut out a skirt for myself - something cool and pretty to wear in Hong Kong (June).

pyjama day

My tummy bug is still hanging around. The girls have gone to Nanny and Poppy's for the day =)

swimming

Eva has a love/hate relationship with her swimming lessons. Lately it has been all hate - tears, screaming, tantrums. But today - yay, she was an angel and had a wonderful time.

Hannah has progressed so rapidly since Xmas that she moved up a class today. So she is now swimming with her best friend (which as always been the carrot). Hopefully this will encourage healthy competitiveness!

under the weather

Seems that I caught Eva's gastro bug from the weekend. Feeling decidely below par today. Very hard to feel grateful when your tummy aches and all you want to do is be horizontial.

Eva was quite upset when I left her at childcare. When I came back from unpacking her bag, they have let her go into Hannah's room. I love how they encourage sibling interaction and friendship. Makes it much easier to leave a happy child than a screaming one!

a bit of culture

It was my turn to organise mother's group today. I've been interested in checking out the 21st Century exhibition at the GOMA and the girls love spending time in The Corner, so I planned a trip into South Bank. I didn't take many photos are we were having so much fun, and it was a little hectic with so many little ones to watch.

A photo of me that Eva took.

The girls were so well behaved today. Amazing, considering we caught the train and were away from home for nearly 6 hours. A good day =)

My inquisitive girl

Hannah enjoys spending time in our backyard looking for insects. Today she found a bee. Although it looked quite sick, she decided it would be her pet and named her Sweetie. She raided the garden for flowers as Sweetie was hungry, serving them up on a leaf placemat.

We googled to find out it was a Great Carpenter bee. It was very hairy (quite like a spider) with a yellow stripe on it's head.

Sweetie perked up after her feed, and took to the skies. Much to the dismay of a screaming Hannah!

the beginning of being grateful....

The qweekend mag is a must read for me every weekend. This excerpt summed up exactly how I feel atm..

"A restlessness and dissatisfaction with life has been haunting me. I am tired all the time and even though I love my kids and know in my head they are amazing and so important, I feel little in the day-to-day and lack patience with them. All I see is endless piles of washing and dishes and house cleaning that will only return as soon as I turn around. I love my partner, but he does not understand how I feel my heart is somehow missing the point. I am completely disinterested in my own life...." (Hailey Batholomew - 365 grateful project)

I feel a change is needed in my life. From today I will start acknowledging at least one thing to be grateful for each day, hopefully accompanied by a photograph.
